Bryan Hymel returns to Opera National de Paris

BHOn April 2, Bryan Hymel returns to Opéra National de Paris for Bizet’s Carmen, a role he has performed to great acclaim, Bachtrack declaring that “Hymel is an excellent Don José: he has vast reserves of power in the voice which enable him to throw his voice at the role and get a lot of expressivity without ever losing control over precise timing or intonation.”

The production, directed by Calixto Bieto, also stars Verduhi Abrahamyan and Anita Rachvelishvili in the title role, by Roberto Tagliavini and Ildarabdrazakov as Escamillo, and Aleksandra Kurzak and Marina Costa-Jackson as Micaëla.

The American tenor performs April 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, and returns for additional performances on June 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28; July 2, 4, 7, 10, and 13.
