Metropolitan Opera welcomes Bryan for Guillaume Tell
Bryan Hymel kicks off the 2016-17 season with his return to the Metropolitan Opera for Rossini’s Guillaume Tell. The American tenor reprises the role of Arnold, having made his debut in Rossini’s work at the Bayerische Staatsoper to great acclaim in 2014. Opera News praised Bryan’s performance in “the nearly impossible role of Arnold Melchtal,” commending his “envious sense of lyrical phrasing.”
Fabio Luisi conducts Bryan in Pierre Audi’s new production at the Met with performances by Marina Rebeka, Janai Brugger, Maria Zifchak, Marianna Pizzolato, and Gerald Finley in the title role.
