Semperoper Dresden debut in Der Rosenkavalier
The American tenor Bryan Hymel continues his summer appearances with a debut at the Semperoper Dresden in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier under the baton of Christian Thielemann. Hymel joins a first-class roster of singers that includes soprano Anna Schwanewilms as the Marschallin, bass Peter Rose as Baron Ochs, and mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča as Octavian.
Bryan’s performances this season have included a number of major European debuts, including first performances in Paris and Vienna with the Orchestre National du Capitôle de Toulouse and a forthcoming debut at the Salzburg Festival in Jeanne d’Arc on August 1. Looking ahead to next season, Bryan will make his house and role debut in Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Opernhaus Zürich and returns to the Austrian capital for his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper.
