Summer Highlights include SF Opera Les Troyens and Rigoletto in Santa Fe

bh-troyensOn the heels of the release of his critically acclaimed Warner Classics album Héroïque, Bryan Hymel will make his San Francisco Opera debut in Berlioz’s Les Troyens. Bryan reprises his signature role of Aeneas, which he performed with “unflagging stamina and impetuous abandon” at the Metropolitan Opera in 2012 (The New York Times). The production, conducted by Donald Runnicles and directed by David McVicar, runs from June 7 to July 1, and also stars Susan Graham, Ana Caterina Antonacci, Michaela Martens, Sasha Cooke, Brian Mulligan, Christian Van Horn, and René Barbera.

The American tenor will then be heard at the Santa Fe Opera in Rigoletto from July 4 to August 28. Bryan returns to Santa Fe where he made his house debut in 2011 as the title role in Gounod’s Faust.
