Berlioz’s Damnation of Faust is coming up January 25th at The Metropolitan Opera! An exciting cast with an amazing work.  Get tickets!

Jan. 25 – Feb. 8: Hector Berlioz, one of the greatest of all composers, does not get the attention he deserves. The Met had scheduled seven performances of his sublime La Damnation de Faust. Then it announced that the work would be given in concert form because of “the unanticipated technical demands of reviving” its Robert Lepage production, which “proved to be impossible to accommodate within the company’s production schedule.” Then, three dates were eliminated and replaced by additional performances of the company’s big hit, Porgy and Bess. So there are only four chances to hear Bryan Hymel and Michael Spyres (who share the title role), Elīna Garanča (Marguerite), and Ildar Abdrazakov (Méphistophélès).
