bio-picThe American tenor Bryan Hymel makes his debuts in Paris and Vienna this February as guest soloist in Berlioz’s La damnation de Faust with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. The orchestra’s music director Tugan Sokhiev leads Berlioz’s légende drammatique supported by an ensemble that includes mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina, basses Alastair Miles and René Schirrer, and the choirs Orféon Donastiarra and La Lauzeta. Following their February 8 performance at Toulouse’s Halle aux Grains, Bryan and the orchestra head to Paris for a February 11 appearance at the French capital’s iconic Salle Pleyel. Their tour continues in Vienna, with two concerts at the legendary Musikverein on February 23 & 24.

This season sees the American tenor making several major debuts. In June Bryan gives his first performances at the Semperoper Dresden in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier. On August 1, Bryan appears at the Salzburger Festspiele for the first time in Walter Braunfels Jeanne d’Arc.
